Critic: Christopher Whitelaw

Site: Higgins Hall, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY

Program: Installation

This is a full-scale structure made from CNC milling. The design focus was to invent and suggest a realistic construction method as well as an interesting design. Its shape resembles that of a four-points supported rectangular igloo, and is constructed by 112 horizontal panels, 452 vertical panels, 226 center rings and other small assemblage pieces. Whole structure composed of four times iterations of 28 different unit types. Vertical and horizontal panels have different height and length and their interconnection creates various and interesting openings and shadows. Visitors may walk around and observe this creation, and even walk into it.
