SP2012 Design Studio
Collaboration with Mina Won and Sheenae Kim
Critic: Eric Schoenenberger
Site: 2001 North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, IL
Program: Train Station + Park + Complex
The station is situated on a location with several level changes and various transportation systems. My team started to simulate and experiment with various ways of generating lines of the site’s condition and surroundings. As a result, we created the key drawing that implemented throughout the entire project from building form and landscape to basic circulation. The station functions as a destination, enjoyable space, and also an iconic architecture for local neighborhood and traveler with park and cultural programs, rather than just being a transitory spot for commuter.
